MAAS-IVE ATTACK!

Timo Maas goes all out for epic 2013

As well as crafting one of the biggest dance tunes of the millennium with his remix of Azzido Da Bass' 'Doom's Night' – a top ten hit in the UK after everyone from garage to techno DJs jumped on its unmistakable bassline - Timo Maas has earned a reputation for roving albums featuring an unpredictable selection of guests.

His third long-player ‘Lifer', out 22nd April on Rockets & Ponies, is no different. Having unveiled the electro-rocky ‘College 84’ featuring Placebo's Brian Molko last year, other collabs include James Lavelle, delivering his first non-U.N.K.L.E vocal on 'The Hunted', and Brighton-based Katie Cruel, another Rockets & Ponies signing.

Having heard a sneak preview, 'Lifer' definitely has more flex than a Bikram yoga teacher, moving from UK hip-hop (featuring Mikill Pane) to main room techno mastery. While you're waiting for it to drop though, enjoy some honest-to-goodness dancefloor grind with ‘Pop A Bubble’, Timo's track on Cocoon’s 100th release compilation, and check out remixes for James Teej on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth label and Johnny Mikes on Lower East Records.

While it seems a million miles (or at least a few months, and more than a few degrees) away, you can also catch Timo celebrating his decade anniversary as a resident at DC10 in Ibiza this summer.
