ED BANGER VS RAM RECORDS

The clash of label heads. Which one will win your party persuasion?
Late Night Trip - Lake Haze - UTTU
You don't need to actually care or know anything about producers to enjoy their music. In fact, if I looked into UTTU's latest signing, Lake Haze further I'd probably find something to disapprove of, but his bolshy sense of stabby melody sounds like classic Zomby on 'Late Night Trip'. Even though it's pretty much exactly the same four-note riff on the flip, 'Need For Speed', it's all a bit of a romp that serves a pretty familiar purpose.
Autumn To Ashes - June Miller - Ram
Being exclusively signed to arguably the biggest label in the d&b game is no mean feat, and with this release the duo have cemented their reputation as Ram's newest recruits. The country & western-style guitar plucked intro could slip into any Tarantino scene and easily mirror the effortless build of energy before reaching its understated climax. It must be mentioned that some of June Miller's signature style has melted away to fit sleekly into Ram's current moulds.
Where's The Beef? - Stanton Warriors - Punks
In the wake of the horsemeat scandal, the Stantons have also been getting political on our asses with choice new cut 'Where's The Beef?' Beginning with Jon Snow reporting for Channel 4 News before assorted sampled Americans ask "Where's the beef?", this is a pared-down Stantons track that makes more sense when you watch the accompanying video (various dancing cows in montage etc). With an almost 'Voodoo Ray' topline and on-point beats, this DJ tool is one joint that's good enough to eat.
Daylight - LTN - Enhanced Progressive
The ultimate accolade you can put an artist's way is 'I want to hear a debut album', and I'm saying it here. LTN's melodically-laced discography doesn't have a blemish on it. 'Daylight' is just another example.
