5 ESSENTIAL ADE EVENTS YOU NEED TO ATTEND

With Miller Genuine Draft

Next month sees the return of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). The 5 day series of club nights, panels, exhibits and networking events runs in the Dutch city from 19th-23rd October. The list of events is nothing short of immense, so we’ve selected five key events – one for each day – that you should build your calendar around.

TOP 100 DJS AWARDS CEREMONY

Following two years as host of the main stage at Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF), our annual awards show is relocating to the beginning of ADE week, as the official AMF opening party. The eagerly anticipated event, which takes place at The Music Hall on Wednesday 19th October, is the place to be witness the crowning of 2016’s No.1 DJ alongside DJ sets from the major award winners.

MASTERMIX ADE

Lovers of house and disco will be all over this one. Jackmaster brings his legendary Numbers party to Amsterdam’s Shelter Club, where he’ll be joined by the enigmatic Detroit legend, Moodymann. Also on the bill for the event, which takes place on Thursday 20th October, is Tom Trago, De Sluwe Vos and a back-to-back set from William Djoko and Jasper James. Massive.

DGTL X PARADISE

Our pick for Friday night (21st October) is Jamie Jones’ Paradise party at the NDSM Docklands. Musically, this has everything you could want – Jamie Jones alongside Hot Since 82, Deetron, Andre Oliva, Richie Ahmed b2b Patrick Topping, wAFF and many more. Yet the real jewel in the crown is the location. NDSM Docklands is a former shipyard in Northern Amsterdam with a rugged, industrial feel. The NDSM hall is a vast hangar on the docks, that is just perfect for these kind of events.

PETS RECORDINGS SHOWCASE

DJ Mag favourites, Catz ‘n Dogz, bring their bumping house sound to the Chicago Social Club on Saturday 22nd October. The party – a showcase for their label, Pets Recordings – is an intimate affair that also features Move D, Gerd and Larry De Kat.

ELROW ADE

Elrow has been the big success story of the last few years. The afterhours Barcelona club, which pairs serious techno with very un-serious entertainment – think inflatables, confetti cannons and the like – now has a sold-out Ibiza residency and tours of the world’s biggest events and festivals. They return to their afterhours roots at this year’s ADE with a party that kicks off at 9am and runs through until 11pm. Sasha, Nic Fanciulli, Secret Cinema and more provide the soundtrack.
