DEFECTED TAKE IBIZA HIATUS AFTER 14 CONSECUTIVE SEASONS

Will instead focus on Glitterbox and Defected Croatia

Defected has today announced that they won’t be returning to Ibiza for their 15th season this summer - choosing instead to focus on Glitterbox and a new venture Defected Croatia.

The seminal house imprint has taken the difficult decision to instead focus on a new venture, Defected Croatia 2016, which is billed as "five days of house music" taking place at the stunning Garden Resort in Tisno, Croatia.

"Defected has always looked forwards to new challenges and todays clubbing landscape is offering more diverse opportunities," said Defected founder Simon Dunmore on the decision not to return to Ibiza this year.

"Last summer we enjoyed yet another successful season at Amnesia and, despite numerous offers for the coming season, we feel that it is time for a fresh challenge. We have decided that hosting a festival in Croatia is a hugely exciting opportunity and we look forward to offering house music fans something a little different this summer.

"Ibiza has been an integral part of Defected's summer calendar for over a decade and we are certain it will remain a key part of our future following this hiatus. This season, we will remain present on the island by hosting our much loved Glitterbox party at Space every Friday."

Defected Croatia 2016 will see house superstars, disco icons and underground heroes playing all-day beach sessions and boat parties by day, and the legendary Barbarella's by night, with the full line-up set to be unveiled soon.
