Best of British
The handpicked nominees, and public voted winners, represent the very Best Of British in 2011. For the results, read on…When the Top 100 DJs poll began in the 1990s, it was pretty much all UK DJs that featured. But as it became internationalised in the noughties, DJ Mag decided a few years ago to create the Best Of British awards — where we, a UK-based magazine, get to shine the spotlight on the talent bubbling on our own fair shores in an end-of-year round-up once again.
2011 has been a fine year for British electronic DJs and producers. Jamie Jones and Maya Jane Coles have really broken through into the big-time, and there’s a whole new generation — in all styles from house to dubstep, bass music to techno, d&b to melodic dance and so on — following in their slipstream. The UK scene has really never been so vibrant.
The handpicked nominees, and public voted winners, represent the very Best Of British from 2011.
