DJ Rashad 10th anniversary memorial parties announced for Chicago, London, New York, Hong-Kong
DJ Spinn, DJ Manny, Scratchclart and more will play across the trio of special parties
A series of special memorial parties for late footwork pioneer DJ Rashad are set to take place across four cities at the end of this month.
Marking 10 years since Rashad's death, the parties will be hosted by Teklife and will go ahead in his native of Chicago, as well as in New York, London and Hong-Kong.
The Chicago event, on Friday, 26th April, will take place at Subterranean, and feature DJ sets from associates such as DJ Manny and DJ Lucky. More information for that party can be found here.
The London memorial party is also scheduled for Friday, 26th April, and will take place at The Jazz Cafe. DJ Spinn and Scratchclart are listed as guests, in addition to a b2b set from Bok Bok and Ikonika. Tickets are available here.
The New York event goes ahead the following night on Saturday, 27th April at Market Hotel in Brooklyn. The line-up is currently unannounced, but more information can be found here.
The Hong-Kong party will also take place on the 26th, hosted by the local Circle crew and featuring sets from Teklife affliate DJ Paypal, Busyboi, Golow, Nerve, Shelf-Index and KOLAK.
Rashad passed away at the age of 34 in April 2014, around six months after the release by Hyperdub of his breakout album 'Double Cup'. The LP was recently reissued to mark its 10th anniversary.
