Kano announced as first Boomtown festival headliner

He'll play the Lion's Den stage at the festival

Kano has been confirmed as the first headliner for next year's Boomtown Festival.

He'll join the likes of Noisia, Caravan Palace, Flogging Molly and more at the festival, and will play on the Lion's Den stage at the event on the final night.

2020 marks the 12th chapter for Boomtown which will announce a line-up made up of more than 1000 artists across 27 main stages.

Speaking about next year's festival, Boomtown cofounder Lak Mitchell says: "over the years we’ve been working towards a festival that was truly an interactive experience. One that celebrated the whole musical spectrum but also led the way in creative thinking.  This evolution will culminate this year with a multi stage theatrical spectacle, fused with all the other performance elements, on a scale we’ve never done before!"

Boomtown 2020 will take place from Wednesday, August 12th until Sunday, August 16th. For more information, head here.

Kano's appearance will follow in the wake of the release this year of his latest album, 'Hoodies All Summer'. Last month, he shared cinematic visuals for a track from that album, the Popcaan-featuring 'Can't Hold We Down'. He will tour the album around the UK early in 2020.

Earlier this year, Kano reprised his role as Sully in the series 'Top Boy'.
