UK CLUBS GIVE US THEIR TOP ETON MESSY MOMENTS

Motion, Canal Mills & Digital run through some memories...

If there’s one thing that YouTube channel turned party series, bloggers and record label Eton Messy have, it’s their fingers firmly on the pulse. The Bristolian collective has evolved into a tastemaking crew, and this Winter are embarking on a UK tour, hitting up some of the best British clubs.

Kicking off on 24th October and running until Saturday 12th December, the freshly announced tour will feature an as-yet-unannounced line-up and is set to visit Leeds, London, Manchester and more. Joining the Eton Messy trio will be Just Kiddin, TCTS, The Golden Boy, Shift K3Y, Gotsome, Tommy Vercetti, plus a live set from Blonde (half of whom is a founding member of EM).

In anticipation of this, we asked some of the clubs they’re stopping off at for their favourite Eton Messy moments...

Black Box, Birmingham
“Our favourite Eton Messy event would have to be their Ibiza Rocks with Bondax, Blonde, Jess Glynne, Eton Messy, Doorly. Our favourite Eton Messy artist is Bondax and our favourite release on the label is their 'Giving it All’.”

Motion, Bristol

“One event that really sticks out is when Hannah Wants played the Eton Messy presents Dimensions Festival launch party at Motion in 2013. It was before Hannah had really broken through. TCTS, Bodhi and Ifan Dafydd also played that night and delivered some amazing sets, but she came down and absolutely destroyed it.

Krystal Klear was also playing and brought down a couple of his friends. Later in the night one of them was caught in the green room suspended halfway through the serving hatch with a bottle of prosecco from the rider in her hands!... Cheeky bugger.”

Canal Mills, Leeds
“It was great to have the Eton Messy guys over to the Faversham for their Spring Tour in 2014. It was a great atmosphere in such an intimate space.”

Digital, Newcastle
“The best highlight we can think of is back to an EM tour event at Digital last year. It must have been a matter of days since Blonde had released their track 'Higher Ground' but 1,600 people were still able to sing along word for word. That was pretty special.”

Antwerp Mansion, Manchester
“For the last 3 years Eton Messy has been our first point of call for finding new music. Our favourite track to date on Eton Messy has to be 'That Thing' by The Golden Boy, we played it to death back when we first started out 3 years ago and still sounds amazing in the club now.

It’s been amazing with artists like Blonde coming through the channel right from the beginning, getting themselves to the top of the charts and they are still some of the nicest lads in the business.

One of our personal highlights for EM has to be seeing Blonde play Parklife this year, we couldn't get in their tent 20 mins before they were due to play and the lads absolutely smashed it, the place erupted on ‘All Cried Out'! The channel has created a sound that has inspired a new generation of producers and I can’t wait to see what they bring in the coming years.”
