WATCH THE FIRST TRAILER FOR TRAINSPOTTING 2

Watch the cast reunite 20 years after the original movie was released...

Last year Trainspotting director Danny Boyle confirmed that filming was to commence on the film’s sequel. Now, our first look at Trainspotting 2 has arrived, as the film’s first trailer has been revealed. You can watch it below.

The film will be based on Irvine Welsh’s Porno, published in 2002. Set 10 years after the original Trainspotting novel, the sequel sees the characters cross paths again in Edinburgh.

First announced in 2013, the new film will reunite original cast members Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle. It will also be directed by Boyle, with a script written by John Hodge, who adapted the original Trainspotting script.

That movie, released in 1996, became the year’s highest-grossing British film, and was later voted the best Scottish film of all time in a public poll.

Trainspotting 2 was originally planned to hit cinemas to mark the 20th anniversary of the original film this year, but has now been scheduled for a January 2017 release.
