You probably know the story to Deadmau5's 'The Veldt' by now, the track that looks set to be his festival peak and departs from his trademark electro in favour of a sunny, lighter and more uplifting touch.
Created over the weekend of March 17 - 18 during a 22 hour Live Streaming session, and based on a short sci-fi novel by Ray Bradbury, Joel uploaded the original instrumental version of 'The Veldt' to Soundcloud for fans to enjoy. The next day, however, Tweets were flying around about creating a vocal version and – much to his surprise – one fan, Chris James, had actually nailed this, creating his lyrics around the same same.
In Joel's words, “he righteously did his homework, and came up with just a few bang on verses that completely compliment the story and the mood, which is all I ever want from a song that contained lyrical content. Can’t give him props enough.”
You can see the moment he told Chris this below.
We have an exclusive stream of a remix of the single by Australian electro star Tommy Trash.
