THE club that put Detroit techno on the map in Berlin, Tresor is one of the German capital’s oldest and most storied institutions, helping reunify the city through music when it first opened in 1991. In 2006, Tresor moved from its original bank vault venue to the gargantuan disused power station, Kraftwerk Berlin. Though plenty of the club’s original spirit still runs through its many concrete halls. Downstairs in Globus — the club’s pitch-black chamber — uncompromising techno reigns supreme, while the upstairs +4Bar keeps house heads happy, and Tresor’s huge main room brings industrial vibes to every party. Here’s to another 26 years.
