The music streaming wars are hotting up with Soundcloud offering three months of its top tier Soundcloud Go+ subscription for just $1 for a limited time.

The new deal is available from today and will likely tempt a lot of users to at least try Soundcloud's subscription service, which gives users access to millions of tracks and the ability to play music offline.

With so many services competing for music fan's hard-earned cash, the streaming market is becoming increasingly competitive, with plenty of services offering some form of a deal to entice new users to sign up.

Spotify, Apple, Groove, Tidal and Deezer all offer some form of deal, usually a free month, to attract new users — but Soundcloud has gone a different route and is offering three months for just $1, which represents a saving of $29.

Critics believe the new deal is a desperate attempt to try and prop up the ailing streaming service, which will reportedly run out of money soon unless it can secure even more funding.

More recently the streaming service has begun to open up its revenue-sharing program to more users, allowing musicians and content creators can actually to profit from their works.

At the time of writing the deal is only available for US-based users.
