Some venues do every last thing they can to draw attention to themselves, but not Club JB's. Sitting inconspicuously on a sleepy street on the outskirts of Nagoya, this 300-capacity den is a venue where the phrase 'it's all about the music' really rings true. Stripped right back to basics, it's nothing but a dark room and a warm, booming soundsystem that would satisfy even the most studious audiophile while their booking policy has seen Radio Slave, Dinky, Slam, François K, Ripperton and Cassy all play over the past year. "It's a really nice cosy venue, quite dark, not so huge with an amazing soundsystem." says Ripperton. The good thing about JB's is that you can play absolutely what you want, which is so rare at the moment."
