ARMA 17
| NEW ENTRY

ARMA 17 is one club in Moscow not about feis kontrol - meaning it doesn't cater for the elite or image-obsessed. Rather, it's a grimy warehouse, deep in a complex of clubs on the territory of the ARMA factory art district. The windowless main gallery is a converted gas silo, 30 metres high and made of brick; however, in January 2009, the venue was gutted by a fire and has since been renovated. So who are these cats that party so hard they burn down the disco? Queuing outside Arma 17, in the industrial surroundings made human with swathes of graffiti, you'll find the hipster clientele slouching on grassy knolls or tagging up the building. On summer days, DJs often play in a courtyard, while stylish patrons chill on couches. With the likes of Soul Clap, Ricardo Villalobos, Peaches, Sven Väth and Paul Woolford regularly playing, it's quite clearly on its way up.
