IN such a technologically hypermodern city as Tokyo, you expect a club to be pretty special, and naturally, the Japanese capital has its fair share of jaw-dropping venues. But AgeHa, perched on the edge of the waterfront in Tokyo's Koto district, is really something special. Boasting a superior soundsystem designed by Jim Toth of Timbre Tech, huge dancefloors, an outdoor dance tent, a "secret VIP room" with an outside jacuzzi, and its own pool, it's safe to say the Japanese don't do things by halves.

In stark contrast to the strictly underground policy of rival Womb, AgeHa represents every shade of dance music, from the most commercial to the truly niche, from trance god Ferry Corsten to the festival conquering Underworld, and from tech house cat John Digweed to Japanese electronic stalwart Ken Ishii.
