The latest update to the popular synth adds multi-core support

Arturia has announced an update to its popular wavetable synth plugin with Pigments 5. The new update — which is free download for license holders — is available now.

Pigments 5 adds a new generative sequencer, audio input processing, and new under-the-hood improvements for more efficient CPU usage.

The generative sequencer is a new feature for creating ideas quickly by adjusting sequences and patterns based on a percentage of “randomness”. You can also lock your patterns and sequences to a scale to keep things musical.

External audio can now be run through Pigments’ FX section and modulated like any oscillator. There’s also an updated Play View for live performance, making the key controls more clear and easily accessible.

The update is free for existing owners of Pigments, and for everyone else, Pigments is currently on sale for $99. You can find out more on the Arturia website.

Arturia has been busy so far this year, launching V Collection X earlier this month (January).
