Top tech toy: The Sony Reader… a beautiful, beautiful thing!
Rising Phoenix-like from its old line-up, it's been an important year for Solarstone. Thanks largely to his first solo artist album - the critically acclaimed 'RainStarsEternal' - and its globe-spanning support tour, founder member Rich Mowatt has broken into the Top 100.
So what memories from the last12 months particularly stand out for the recharged dance legend?
"Well, I played Music On Board back in February - that's unquestionably one!" recalls Rich. "It's a cruise ship/club that sails off the coast of Brazil with 2000 utter hedonists in the middle of the ocean with nothing but bass and booze for company.
"Also, the 2F White party in Taipei, with 15,000 Asian trance fans dressed head-to-toe in white won't be quickly forgotten either. Frankly, it's been a brilliant year!"
Elsewhere, Solarstone's weekly broadcast brainchild, Solaris International, has powered up the ranks to become one of the most syndicated FM and internet dance shows in circulation.
"It's a great way for me to discover new music and connect with the fans," says Rich. "The show is a good laugh and we have a lot of fun with the listeners too - I try to make things as interactive as possible! We go out on M.O.S. Radio and 35 other stations every week and the ratings have rocketed."
Solarstone will be mixing his first Solaris Recordings label compilation in February, quickly followed by 'The X Discs - RainStarsEternal Remixed' album in June.
