27. Laidback Luke
Best known for: That 'Show Me Love' cover, but I can do a lot more!
Gig of 2009: Nocturnal Festival in LA.
Tune of 2009: On the mainstream side, Black Eyed Peas 'I Got A Feeling' (Interscope). On the edgier side, Major Lazer feat Afrojack 'Pon Di Floor' (Downtown)
Breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2009: My boys Afrojack, Chuckie and Avicii.
The track that changed your life: Westbam's 'Mayday Anthem' made me realise I would love house music the rest of my life.
Most underrated DJ: Dadalife - these guys should be superstars!
Biggest challenge this year: Getting these album tracks done!
Top tech toy: The new Pioneer CDJ-2000 CD player.
As far as fresh-faced Laidback Luke is concerned, the world is a smaller place thanks to Twitter but there simply aren't enough hours in the day.
"I wanted to play South America this year, for instance, but we couldn't fit it in the schedule. And I did want to finish my album. But the year isn't over yet and I'm working hard to get it done now!"
Hardworking and humble to the last, Luke felt he needed to prove himself as an international DJ and producer.
"This year was more about settling in and travelling even more!"
Luke has been blown away by the how the year has panned out for him and it peaked with the humungous success of party-starter 'Show Me Love' - co-produced with Swedish rapscallion Steve Angello.
"It's a dream come true! Both on the career side and on the family side. I live a dream life and I'm very thankful it's working out," he grins.
There are plans to take his Super You&Me parties to his favourite clubs around the world. And as well as finishing his artist album, with singles and videos erupting from it, Luke will also be taking his Mixmash label to another level.
"I will actively treat it and set it up as an official record company," he reveals.
