From: Australia

DJ style: “Big room dance, commercial (ish), psy-trance.”

Best known for: “Energic sets, good vibes always.”

Much loved sister act NERVO have spent the past year getting down to business — “just the usual, touring and living,” Liv and Mim explain. “Trying to make as much music as possible and balance our home life being mommas to three beautiful girls. Counting our blessings!” The duo have been a mainstay in the Top 100 DJs polls for over a decade now, and they’ve never been shy about coming forward to big up other female DJs and artists in the industry: “Loving how many girls there are in main stage techno and so proud to see the development and change, go ladies!”

Previously working with and giving upbeat props to established artists and rising stars like Kylie, Miley Cyrus and Ke$ha, NERVO have now been working on a clutch of psy-trance bangers and heartfelt new songs: “lots of new records for our sets and to release.” Along with making music for a “kids’ program”, the duo also hint at some work on the cards for Disney, as they continue to rave across the globe with notable high-energy pitstops at Victoria Falls in South Africa and a main stage set at Tomorrowland Brazil. Go ladies!

Hero of 2023: “Dr Charlotte Proudman. Female rights barrister.”

Fave tune of 2023: “’Metro’ by Kevin de Vries and Mau P.”

What was the most exciting tech development of 2023? “AI vocals! Ha, not really because that’s kinda scary, but maybe self-driving cars (also a bit scary).”

Best DJ set you’ve seen in 2023: “Fatima Hajji.”

Rising star DJ/producer of 2023: “Mau P and Blastoyz.”

What gives you hope for 2024? “It feels like a lot of airplanes are cutting down on single-use plastic. That gives us some hope for our planet!”
