Jeff Mills is one of the stars of German fashion house Jil Sander’s Fall/Winter 2023 campaign.

The Detroit techno legend has been photographed modelling some of the collection, and has also narrated a short film.

Directed by Stephen Kidd, the short film, shot in Manchester, explores the intersection of music, technology and fashion.

Speaking on the launch, Mills said: "As I became interested in music, I was also really interested in fashion... As a musician, I can look at that, turn to music and think about the same type of topics: the shades, the colours, the textures and translate it into sound, even considering the silence after sound.”

Mills has a history of teaming up with fashion brands. Last December, he was the DJ for a Dior runway show at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

Last September, Mills dropped an album, ‘Evolution’, as part of the Tomorrow Comes The Harvest project alongside Indian tabla player Prabhu Edouard, and Guyanese keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary as a trio.

The project, which was originally formed with the late Tony Allen, is embarking on a world tour with dates spanning across 2023 and 2024.

Earlier this year, Jeff Mills also created a new electronic music-based score for Fritz Lang's silent 1927 film 'Metropolis'.
