In his own words, 2009 has been "a big one" for Simon Patterson.
"I've had 'Thump' out recently and just prior to that was 'For The Most Part', which was my second collaboration with Sean Tyas," he says. "I've had eight consecutive No.1s on Beatport now and it's extremely gratifying to see what I do in the studio translate like that."
Out on the gig front, it seems things have been even more hectic.
"I did the first Trance Energy tour of Australia in the spring. That was a proper experience! The sheer amount of production that went into every event was amazing.
"Korea was quite special too, though," he adds. "I played in the country for the first time - at Club Volume - and it was great to see how different cultures respond when I play."
Into 2010 and Simon isn't letting up with plenty of plans brewing for the year ahead.
"I've just mixed one of the discs on the Trance Awards album and I'm doing The Essential Mix in November - I'm looking forward to that immensely. I've also got seven tracks ready to go, including two big vocal tunes, so there's loads of stuff waiting in the wings to happen."
